Today 20th February is national ‘Love your pet’ day. We all obviously love our own pets but we also love the local pub dog, so many good locals come complete with a friendly fury companion who is always looking to make friends with the patrons and obviously a sneaky crisp usually goes down well!

Thankfully we are now coming to the end of the worst month in the calendar for our publicans, between ‘Dryanuary’ and the annual New Years resolutions to ‘get fit’, January can be a quiet month in the pubs and clubs. February however is when it all kicks back in to life with The 6 Nations being a major draw, with lots of venues supplying half time snacks or after match entertainment, February always brings the crowds back to the pubs.

Keg Watch is the organisation committed to reducing these losses. Keg Watch Limited is a Trade Association limited by guarantee. We represent the interests of over 1000 members from micro to international brewers, cider makers and the major suppliers of dispense gases to the industry. The aim of this website is to provide information about Keg Watch to licensees, the industry, the police and the public and to raise awareness of the issues involved. If you are involved in handling stolen kegs, the penalties are severe. Keg Watch pays rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible…

January can be a quiet month in the licensed trade, following the manic Christmas and New Years period it can be a good time to take a well earned break!It’s not long however before we are counting down the days to February and a return to ‘normal’ or as normal as the licenced trade ever gets. February really signals the ‘START’ of the year for many pubs, ‘Dryanuary’ is gone and most people are regretting signing that 6 months gym membership!
